Claire, our tester, was impressed by the packaging. It was easy to open and clean. She found it to be among the most simple and quick pieces of baby equipment to assemble. She took it out for a spin on some rough terrain and was extremely pleased with its performance.
Seats
The majority of 3 wheel double buggies begin as single pushchairs. However, some models can be converted to accept an additional seat by using adapters. There are also models let you include a ride-onboard for older children who wish to walk but require some assistance.
Check out the Joie Evalite Duo for an ideal, lightweight solution for urban streets. It is easy to maneuver and comes with a large basket with lots of storage. It can accommodate twins as young as birth and accept two car seats or an infant carrycot and seat. However, the seats have to be oriented forward and there's no space for a shopping bag underneath, so you'll need a backpack for that.
If you're looking to take off-road trips and off-road, the Mountain Buggy Duet is a good option. It's a side by side with the smallest footprint of any double buggy on the market. It's much easier to get through narrow doors on public transport, and to climb up and over kerbs. The adjustable handlebar features an integrated handbrake to increase security and safety.
The UPPAbaby vista 2 double is another lightweight option that is suitable for twins or a toddler and a baby. The seats have a multi-position reclining with UPF 50plus sunshades. The canopy can be adjusted so that the sun does not get into your child's eyes. The Vista 2 can be converted into a triple by adding UPPAbaby’s "PiggyBack" board for older children.
The iCandy Orange is one of the most well-known double buggies available due to its outstanding comfort. It's an all-terrain vehicle, with a soft suspension to make easy work of bumpy surfaces. It can accommodate up to 30 seating configurations and has an integrated ride-on board that can be used for older children who prefer walking and a 'cinema seating' mode which raises the back seat for better visibility.
The phil&teds dots are fantastic single buggys that can be easily modified to take two (or three!) in various configurations. This is especially useful when you have a child in a car seat since the frame can be equipped with a wedgie for optimum lying flat, or car seat adapters for various brands.
Suspension
The suspension of a double 3 wheel buggy will determine how easily you and your child/children can push it. A smooth ride is crucial because babies feel every bump on the road, especially if it's on rough terrain such as grass or unpaved paths. Some models also come with front wheels that lock to assist with maneuvering and getting over obstacles like curbs.
Certain models have air-filled tyres, which provide a fantastic all-terrain experience, but they can be susceptible to punctures, so ensure you have a spare set in the trunk. Other models use gel or foam tyres, which are specifically designed to handle bumps and are less prone to punctures, however, you might find them to be a bit stiff and uncomfortable for your child's back should you decide to run.

MFM reviewer Kath test-driven the Urban Glide 2 with her three-year-old and newborn, and found it exceptionally adept on terrains that are difficult to traverse. "It navigated effortlessly across bumpy sidewalks and grass, cobbles, and dirt tracks and was easy to maneuver around corners and climb up and down kerbs." Folding
A three-wheel double buggy can be folded up in a neat manner for storage. There are options that fold flat and then stand up (as as if they're in a pushchair position) and also ones that pop out to reveal an umbrella-like fold that has a hand-operated brake. In general the more wheels a buggy comes with the more comfortable it will be to handle on rough terrain. This is especially true if the wheels are larger than average size. 3 wheeler pushchair will have more stability, and it will be less likely that you have to flip or tip your child.

The Joie Evalite Duo, a stroller that is light enough to accommodate twins from birth and is a world-facing stroller with a lie-flat reclining position it's a different kind of stroller. Its clever frame expands widthways to accommodate a second seat, but it only weighs in at around 11kg, making it easy to move and lift. It can be used with the car seat, a carrycot or both. This allows you to have the best of both worlds.
